Witness the crow

Witness the crow on a grassy prowl.
How the universe trembles.
Now, here we are as always before, our light cast about.
Shiver and bow.
Talk quickly and smile as this happens fast.
Witness the crow on a dark misty path.
What's done is done.
Rest under grass.
Watch the leaves shiver and crumble,
dangers unknown.
You were once among them.
Dance as a child alive in the snow.
What falls has fallen,
Witness the crow.

Still Waiting

Half passed nigh,
Anxiety riddled.
Wise of the skies to lie.
Take this for that and that for this.
Thronged with self-righteousness.
Pocket a treasure. Give it a kiss;
Creatures ten times your size
Heed a warning, burn a fence.
Learn to dance with half the steps.
Hear something interesting?
I’m still waiting for something real.
Be it pain, be it rage,
Blemish my shinny cage.
Just a patch of rust gives way to lust,
And then and then.
A bitter condition indeed.
Shackling and skulking about.
Pity. Breaking. Screaming.
Covet the fires of Sodom and Gomorra.
Find refuge in refuse.
Bend your knee.
Fore the sky once kind to lie now burns.
